Wash U JIVE is Washington University's Dance Team. Our main purposes are to entertain, to instill school spirit, and to promote school morale for athletic programs as a whole. Wash U JIVE performs dances at various events on campus throughout the year, though primarily during the halftime of Bears'
football and baseketball games.

We attempt to increase attendance at both men's and women's sporting events by supportng the teams, performing at half-time, as well as providing an outlet for students who do not necessarily fit into performing arts or cheerleading aspects. Addtiioanlly, we organize and host an annual show -- "Saturday Night JIVE" -- in the spring that features performances by our team in addition to some of the other a'capella groups and dance groups on campus.

We also take part in Homecoming and Parents weekend activities, local parades, and Dance Marathon. We also guest appearaed in the greenleaf's (Wash U all-female a'capella group) concert in the spring of 2002. We have performed for local venues as well: We made an appearance at "Loop in Motion" in 2000 as well as one on "Show Me St. Louis" in 2001 to promote Dance Marathon.
