FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- How can I become a member of the Eliot Review staff?
Becoming a staff member is easy - simply show up to one of our Sunday meetings within the first few weeks of the semester. We only ask that people commit to attending the majority of the meetings each semester.
- When/where does Eliot Review meet?
Our meetings are generally every Sunday at 6pm on the second floor of Umrath 3.
- How do I submit?
Please see our submission guidelines page for information on submitting. Direct any further questions to Jacquie Lane.
- When will I find out whether or not my poetry/fiction/art was accepted?
We send out e-mails at the end of every semester letting people know the status of their work. If you do not receive an e-mail within the last few weeks of the semester and you are curious about the status of your submission contact: Jacquie Lane for poetry, Christina Cosio for art, or Dan Wilson for fiction.
- Can the Eliot Review provide feedback on my poetry?
Due to the large volume of poems we have to review every semester, we do not have the time to provide individual feedback to the poets. On rare occasions, however, the staff may feel a small editorial change is necessary to make the poem acceptible for publication. In these cases, the poet will be consulted before the magazine is sent to print.
- How often is the Eliot Review published?
The Eliot Review is published twice a year, at the end of each semester.
- How do I get a copy of the new magazine?
We generally do distribution during the last two weeks of the semester. Consult the calendar for the specific times and locations. You can also request to be on the Eliot Review e-mail list and you will be notified automatically.
