Elizabeth "B" Schlaeger
Former Head Coach 2004-2006
bschlaeger@peoplepc.com
Coach B has been involved with rugby since she started playing college ball at Tennessee Tech University. She was a founding member of the Stonelions WRFC, created from rugby playing alumni across TN in 1997. The Stonelions eventually morphed into the Nashville Women's RFC. In 1998, she was offered a spot on the South Select Side squad, but had to turn it down due to work commitments. During her time with the Nashville club team, she was one of two co-coordinators for the women's portion of the NashBash Rugby Festival and Tournament in Nashville, TN from 1999 - 2003. She also served as either Match Sec'y, Treasurer, and President for most of her 7 years with the Nashville club. Forward play is her specialty, having experience with every pack position, prop to 8-man. In 2001, she retired from playing in order to coach the Nashville club, where she continued coaching until she moved to St. Louis in the summer of 2003. Nashville was ranked 3rd out of 14 women's DII teams in the South Regional Rugby Union while she coached there. After moving to St. Louis and getting her feet under her in a new town, she accepted the position as Head Coach for the Wash U Women at the beginning of the Spring 2004 season. She is a USA Rugby Certified Coach and Touch Judge.
Coach B is an environmental engineer and moved to St. Louis to take a job as an engineering specialist with Delta Environmental Consultants. Though raised on a farm in southeast Tennessee, she lives in St. Louis City, just south of Tower Grove Park in a house that's 100 years old with her 3 dogs - Lucky, Lucy, and Sidney. When she's not involved in rugby, she spends her time working out, discussing politics and current events with those who're interested, reading lots of science fiction, watching movies, spending time with friends and family, and chasing/tracking down her dogs when they escape the back yard. She turns 35 in October, and her current goal in life is to see the Wash U team kick some "a$$" in 2005!

Jess has played rugby
for about ten years- four for Madison (3.5 years for Madison club side, and
the inaugural season for UW-Madison Collegiate), five for Chicago Women's,
and one for the St. Louis Sabres. She spent most of her playing time as scrum-half, but was able to play flanker towards the end of her rugby career.
