Requirements for Membership
The Pre-Law Society is just that -- a society. It cannot function without the help of its members. With everyone's help we can make PLS bigger, better, and stronger. To this end, we will ask for a few things from our members, all of which will help the society continue:
-
Each semester members are required to pay dues of five dollars. That is a small amount, and it helps the Pre-Law Society to survive and allows its benefits to continue. Students can bring money to any meeting to become an official member.
-
We expect that our members will remain in decent academic standing with the university. Cumilitive grade point average is one of the most important factors that law schools consider when deciding whether to admit an applicant. We would not be following our stated mission if we didn't stress the importance of maintaining good grades. We will do all that we can to make sure that our members have access to the various tools on campus that are designed to improve study habits, improve performance in classes, and boost the grades you receive.
-
Finally, we ask that our members provide feedback. This is your society, so we want to hear what you have to say. Whether there is something that you don't like and want see changed or there is something you do like and want to see more, please don't hesitate to voice your opinion.

Reasons to Join
There are many reasons to join the Pre-Law Society if you think you might be interested. Although everyone is welcome to attend general meetings, there are certain benefits that are reserved for members only. Some of those include discounts on LSAT prep courses from Kaplan and Princeton Review, ability to run for executive board positions, and priority seating when space is limited for an event.
Anyone who joins is also eligible for an outstanding member award. We honor our most active and dedicated members at the end of the second semester with this award. They are limited in number, and only the best receive them. Overall, we are one of the few comprehensive resources for pre-law students on campus. We offer contact with legal professionals, insight into the law school admissions process, information about opportunities for pre-law students (including internships), free practice LSAT examinations, and much more! Don't hesitate; join today.
