History of WUMR

The Washington University Marrow Registry is a student group at Washington University in St. Louis. We work with the National Marrow Donor Program to host several annual registration drives on the Wash. U. campus.

WUMR began just a few years ago as the brainchild of Laura M. Seger, then a student at Washington University in St. Louis. Laura founded the group after hearing the story of Alexandra and Matthew Pearl from WU alumna Marla Esser.

Past Drives

In the few years since its conception, WUMR has already been very successful in its efforts to spread awareness of the need for marrow donors, and to get people registered in the NMDP database. Click here to see a detailed history of our annual drives.
